Biography
Born in 1978, Daniel Baeder began playing the piano at the age of nine under Lúcia Amato, under whom he studied for three years. Not sure about which instruments to play, Daniel started taking bass and drum lessons at the Espaco musical music school with Duda Neves, Zé Pedro, and Marcelo Migg until he met Vera Figueiredo.

His experience at the Instituto de Bateria with Vera Figueiredo made one thing very sure- music will take a great part in his life!

At fourteen years old, he started teaching drums and music theory at the Harp Som music school, as well as beginning to become a part of São Paulo´s music scene. From the age of fifteen, Daniel began to participate in some major drum-oriented events such as the Batuka International Drum Festival, sometimes opening the event with a astonishing drum solo, sometimes judging the contests, and sometimes performing with artists like Virgil Donati and Cuca Teixeira. He also composed, arranged and played the bass and drum tracks of the tune "Submarino", recorded on the Batuka Festival's first CD.

At the age of eighteen, he received an invitation from Celso Pixinga (a world renowned Brazilian bass player) to form the trio PXP and perform for two months at the Sanja Jazz Bar in São Paulo. He also received from Pride music (the Premier drums and Sabian cymbals distributor at that time) an invitation to endorse the two brands, and stayed for four years!

Some time later, he joined the band "O Terço", and composed, arranged and played the majority of the tunes on the CD "Spiral Worlds", and toured he country.

After leaving "O Terço", Daniel performed with Flávia Virgínia (Djavan´s daughter) for four years. He also recorded her CD, "Livro Mãe", while playing and recording with some other artists as well.

In 1998, Daniel went to live in Japan where he had the chance to study with Tommy Campbell.

Returning to Brazil, he bought a home studio where he recorded more than than albums helping to establish his reputation as an arranger and a producer.

He also continued to play with Flávia Virgínia, participating in a project called "A Casa Cai" from the Bourbon Street Jazz Club where he had the chance to play as a side man to some renowned artists like Dominguinhos, Jairzinho, Max de Castro, Pedro Mariano, Zélia Duncan and Sandra de Sá.

Daniel is also heavily involved in São Paulo´s studio scene, recording with various artists of many styles ranging from Brazilian Country to Jazz, but always with his signature sound. His work is receiving coverage from some of the most important media vehicles such as "Modern Drummer" magazine (the the Brazilian and American editions), "Cover Batera" magazine and "Rock Brigade" magazine. Throughout the years, he also studied with Virgil Donati, Gustavo Meli and Robby Ameen.

Nowadays, Daniel plays with Max Fairbanks (a fusion and pop artist) and Luiza Possi.

In 2006, he has released his solo debut CD of Brazilian instrumental music, in which he played the bass and the keyboards in some tunes and also performing on a electronic music project, for which he is recording a CD called "Sinuca".
